Numeracy
Welcome to the Numeracy area
At St. Malachy’s, we believe that numeracy is an essential life skill that helps children make sense of the world around them. From counting and measuring to problem-solving and reasoning, numeracy supports students to think logically, confidently, and creatively in everyday situations.
The Numeracy section of our website has been created to support students and families. It will include links to a range of numeracy activities, games, and resources that can be used at home to practise and reinforce learning in fun and meaningful ways. These activities are designed to complement classroom learning and encourage students to enjoy mathematics beyond the classroom.
As Numeracy Coordinator, I work closely with teachers to ensure our numeracy lessons reflect best practice and meet the needs of all learners. We value a growth mindset and aim to create positive learning experiences where students feel confident to take risks, learn from mistakes, and grow as mathematicians.
We look forward to working in partnership with families to support children’s numeracy development and success at St. Malachy’s.
