As part of our Literacy work this term, the children have been learning how to write clear instructions. To put their skills into practice, they wrote their own instructions for making a jam sandwich and then followed them step by step.
It was lovely to see how many of the children were trying a jam sandwich for the very first time, a whole new experience! Some were a little unsure about tasting it, while others thought it was too sweet.
The children had great fun preparing and eating their sandwiches. Thankfully, they were all edible, although some instructions needed a quick tweak along the way, with a few children forgetting to include the ingredients!
Overall, it was a fun and memorable lesson that the children thoroughly enjoyed while developing their instructional writing skills.
