What a day!

10th Jun 2023

This year, for Sports Day for our older pupils, we tried something new and went to Shane O'Neill's GAC to run our events.

P4, P5, P6 and P7, headed off for a day of sport and fun. The weather was perfect and everyone was ready to try their best.

There were nine events taking place throughout the day, from sprints, sack races, long kicks, beanbag throws to penalty kicks and tug-of-war!

We had an ice cream at break time and a picnic lunch on the grass when we were halfway through the events. We never felt thirsty as Hughes Costcutter provided water and fresh oranges for both sports days - thank you!

Anto and Miss Sloan made sure we had warmed up before we started our races and Anto kept us active in between the events.

Even the mums and dads joined in showing great talent in the sprint and bat and ball.

The day ended with members of staff having a tug-of-war - the result is still being disputed, we may need a rematch!

It was a fantastic day and our pupils are already looking forward to next year's Sports Day.

We  hope that all our pupils slept well on Friday night after such a busy day  - we know our staff did!

Thank you to Shane's for the use of their grounds and to you, our parents, for all of your support on the day. A special thank you to Mr Gerry Barry, who helped us so much from early morning right through until the last pupils left the field!
