Primary 5/6 pupils celebrated National Storytelling Week by exploring a rich variety of myths and legends. This year's theme "Soundtrack Your Story," encouraged the children to creatively combine storytelling with rhythm and sound. The children compared Irish myths and legends with Greek mythology, identifying shared themes and traditions across cultures. Through the use of body percussion, pupils retold the stories of The Children of Lir, Cuchulainn and Oisin in Tir na nOg, bringing the narratives to life in an engaging and imaginative way. P5/6 were fully immersed in the storytelling experience, deepening their understanding of the long-standing tradition of oral storytelling while developing creativity, collaboration and expressive skills.
