What a wonderful way to begin the year together! Our first topic is “All About Me”, and the children have really enjoyed exploring who they are and what makes each of them unique.
We started by looking closely at our facial features, noticing how we are all similar in some ways but also wonderfully different. The children created self-portraits, carefully mixing colours and painting their own faces – each one a true work of art!
We have also been exploring our names and taking pride in how special they are.
Another exciting activity was investigating our eye colours. The children loved comparing shades and spotting the variety across the class. We also voted on our favourite colours and turned the results into a pictogram, which was a fun way to introduce early data handling.
This topic has given the children a chance to talk, share, and celebrate their individuality while also learning more about their new classmates.
