❤️ Happy Grandparents' Day ❤️
Today Primary 2 had the joy of celebrating a truly special occasion as part of Catholic Schools Week... our Grandparents’ Day. It was a morning filled with warmth, faith, smiles, and precious memories that we will treasure for a long time.
Our theme this year, “Grandparents – God’s Gift of Love,” set the tone for a heartfelt celebration. The hall was beautifully decorated with the children’s writing, and a bright display in the foyer from Primary 4, reminding us all just how important these wonderful family members are in our lives.
The children led a beautiful assembly, beginning with a warm welcome and prayers thanking God for the love, wisdom, and guidance grandparents share so generously. There were lots of smiles (and a few happy tears!) as our slideshow played, accompanied with a gentle version of “You are my Sunshine.” The children’s reflections on why grandparents are special (whether it’s for their stories, their hugs, their delicious baking, or their endless encouragement) made the morning feel even more personal and full of heart.
After the assembly, everyone enjoyed a lovely time together with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Grandparents and grandchildren took part in fun activities including our trip down memory lane with storytelling and drawing and marking our special poems with joint hand prints.
Grandparents hold a cherished place in Catholic Schools Week, reminding us of the gift of family, tradition, and faith passed lovingly from one generation to the next. We are so thankful to everyone who joined us and made the celebration so meaningful.
To all our wonderful grandparents:
Thank you for your love, your stories, your wisdom, and your constant support.
You truly are God’s gift of love. 💛
